Cooee Coffee Co’s Jack Murat is great as an espresso, featuring subtle citrus, and chocolate notes with a clean, smooth finish.
Meet Jack Murat
In the early years of the 20th century, Hymet “Jack” Murat purchased land near Mareeba in Far North Queensland and farmed one of the area’s earliest tobacco plantations. Some 90 years later Jack’s descendants are continuing his pioneering ways using the same rich, volcanic soil. Only now it’s a crop of a different kind. Coffee.
The result is some of Australia’s finest arabica coffee. It’s so good that they’ve put Jack’s name on the label as a mark of respect.
The Murat Family Story
The Murat family farm is nestled between world heritage rainforests and the outback savannah, positioned at the highest elevation point on the Great Dividing Range in Mareeba, north of the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland. Combining almost a century of farming experience with new sustainable practices, the Murat family is dedicated to consistently producing nothing less than some of the best coffee crops in Australia.
Why we love their coffee:
Jack Murat ticks our boxes for being both ethical and sustainable as well as 100% Australian-owned, grown, and roasted.
Let’s talk about taste
Jack Murat coffee is naturally low in caffeine. With a complex acidity of citrus and lemons, coupled with a clean fruity sweetness, balanced with a distinct earthy flavour, and defined with subtle hints of milk chocolate.
