In farms, coffee plants are grown under natural sunlight. In greenhouses, plants are grown under artificial lighting. Both types of growing locations have advantages and disadvantages.

Australia has a few pockets where coffee grows exceptionally well. They include the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, the Far North Queensland hinterland behind Cairns and small pocket areas in the hills behind Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Arabica coffee is exclusively grown in Australia commercially.
